IWI most recent acquisition is the Resound Building in Cork Business and Technology Park, Model Farm Road,Cork T128K71. The building is the former GN Resound Unit that was involved in the production of medical supplies for distribution and has been vacant for many years.
The property is located approximately 4km west of Cork city centre on a main bus route and close to both University College Cork and Cork Institute of Technology. Model Farm Road is convenient to Cork Airport and all main arterial routes via the adjacent South Ring Road network.
A recent survey of the building which has been unoccupied for c. 10 years indicated that the premises needed substantial multi million euro investment to bring up to a proper standard similar to other businesses in the park.
IWI have invested substantially into this refurbishment to attract the HSE to the park and to the premises which they believe will have huge benefit the park in the long term. A location for the project close to the Cork hospital makes this unit particularly attractive to the HSE.
Nevin Construction Ltd were employed to underytake the extensive refurbishment working in conjuction with C J Falconer Architects from Waterford.
Adjacent to Cork University Hospital in the Cork Business & Technology Park the Resound Building is a landmark property that has the potential to serve the immediate, medium term and long term objectives for a number of companies and in particular the Health Service Executive
The property comprises a modern single story facility with two high-spec office blocks, on an overall site area of approximately 1.2 hectares (3 acres) with excellent car parking facilities (177)
