Ireland World Investments (IWI) has negotiated a long-term 20-year lease with the KWETB to lease Block E Bray, Civic Centre, Co Wicklow.

Ireland World Investments (IWI) has negotiated a long-term 20-year lease with the KWETB to lease Block E Bray, Civic Centre, Co Wicklow. Block E with a gross floor area of 2195 sqm forms part of Bray Civic Centre (‘BCC’), a cluster of modern buildings off Main Street in Bray which house the Courts Services, Dept. of Social Protection, Mermaid Theatre, OPW, HSE Area Office along with ancillary cafes.

Mr. Richard Coffey Managing Partner stated that (IWI) acquired the building in 2015 from NAMA and further stated that the new negotiated lease with the KWETB was subject to a change of use in planning from Office to Educational in order to facilitate the new facility

The Planning application for change of use was submitted to Wicklow County Council in December 2015 and received a successful grant from the local authority in April 2016.

This decision by the local authority was appealed by local residents to An Bord Pleanala in May 2016 however the decision was upheld and received a full grant of planning from the Bord in September 2016

Kildare and Wicklow ETB was established in July 2013 by the Education and Training Boards Act 2013 and commenced as an Education and Training provider in both counties under the leadership of Sean Ashe, Chief Executive. 

 

Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board (KWETB) provide a comprehensive range of education services throughout Kildare and Wicklow.  As the largest education provider in counties Kildare and Wicklow, the ETB provides education and training opportunities for life-long-learning through ETB Community National Schools, Second Level Schools, Post Leaving Certificate Courses (PLCs), Adult, Further Education and Training and Youth Support Service.

Bray Civic Centre is a mixed-use development situated in the centre of County Wicklow’s largest town within the Dublin metropolitan area. Situated just off the Main Street in Bray, Bray Civic Centre is just 10 minutes walk from the DART Station. The DART travels to the City Centre every 10 minutes at peak times, with regular services between 6am and midnight. For vehicular access, the development is close to the N11 and the southern extension of the M50 Motorway
